We met with three neighbors the other evening - a husband and wife, along with their 1-year-old girl. He's a poet and a teacher, and is eager to talk about things artistic. She is a bio-chemist who comes from northern Italy - she speaks Italian, German and English. The daughter is very interested in eating Cheerios and making cute and weird faces at all who are interested - which included the four of us.
They also have a piano, and music may prove to be some of the glue that brings us together from time to time, despite our generational difference. I still feel their age, I just look older. Honest. OK, sometimes I feel older, but then again, at other times I feel even younger. I love that about getting older - we have so many "ages" to choose from with which to experience the world.
My daughter is in the big apple. I'm really excited for her. What incredible culture shock she must be experiencing right now! We visited New York this past fall. It brought back floods of memories, and it also reminded me why I eventually chose to leave it. It's just so crowded! Ah, but what energy and opportunity! It's a wonderful city for the young, and I know my kiddo will make the most of her experience there.
Meanwhile, Laytown Ireland, about as close to 180 degrees different than New York as one might get, continues to prove fascinating, inspiring, relaxing and all in all very good to us both.
The days are starting earlier and the nights are coming later. Soon we'll be living with lingering sunrises and sunsets.
Good night all.

Yay, you updated!! I like your "About Me" section, too. I'm listening to the Brandenburg concerto right now :)
